The Battle of Natures

To All who may have an interest:
This is a subject I am currently teaching & discussing with my Men's Group. It is based on Romans Chapter 7 where the Apostle Paul is revealing the war between the 2 natures every Christian is engaged in. Beginning in chapter 7 with verse 14 & culminating at the end of the chapter, Paul writes how he is amazed at the difficulty he has encountered with trying to do what is right, but discovers that his attempts at doing so are thwarted. He comes to a foregone conclusion which defines the dilema he is experiencing. It is sort of like saying in our modern day lingo, that he is "getting noplace fast!"
How about you? Have you ever, or are you now, feeling the same way as the Apostle Paul did?
Are you aware of any battle happening in your life right now? How about those who just are not aware that a battle exists within or are confused with what is going on inside in the first place.
If you have a struggle you are trying to deal with, but are getting defeated by, drop a note here & let's discuss it, according to what the Apostle Paul experienced. If you have a desire to know what this dilema was that Paul struggled with in this battle with his nature, share your request and we will check it out together with the scriptures. Be sure to read & reread the portion of chapter 7 to gain familiararity with the content of what Paul is saying. Pray first for The Lord to give you His Wisdom & understanding, then thank Him for His Blessings.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

I grew up with what Paul claimed: "Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord." Not by choice, this was just the relationship my parents had, as well as many if not all family members.

What I got "served" in my own relationships was often the opposite. Granted, we live in different time now, but a demanding and controlling woman simply doesn't fit to my upbringing nor anything I have to offer.

This might very well explain, why I gave up on any human relationships, and quite frankly, I have never been happier and more content. I tried for almost 20 years. With other words, this is no struggle, I left my struggles behind.

Interestingly enough, I was able to rebuild my relationship with God and Jesus Christ after my ex wife asked for divorce.

The sinful nature will never cease in this life. Being of duel natures, neither will the spiritual nature of Christ living within us. The battle is between the 2 natures for the decision of our will. It is a matter of which one we are listening to.
The more we become Grace conscious, the less we will be sin conscious.

It is an everlasting battle and everyday we are presented with a choice. Wake up to serve ourselves or wake up to serve God. If we serve ourselves then at the day we are condemned be the Holy Spirit which is why we know when we do wrong. When we serve God we are inspired by the Holy Spirit. WE will always have a sin nature about us and that is why we need to be in God's word daily. It is Gods word that feeds us and the Holy Spirit that leads us. When we sin, give it to God, ask for forgiveness and repent.

Ed I agree with you, just rember though the only person we can handle is ourselves. I do my best to set an example and pray for these people. It's much easier said than done, I agree.

Thanks for sharing, ed172c. I too dealt with that when I was working. Whenever someone would take The Lord's name in vain, I would answer with a yes, how can I help you? Someone laughed at me and said with a smirk, what? So, I said, you called The Lord by name; He lives within me & answered your call. They tried their best after that not to drop His name in front of me. When they swore, they would apologize. God's loving wisdom in far greater than any of their sinfulness. I found that hating them is only a reflection back at myself, who is also a vile sinner - saved by grace. That is the only difference between us. It's Jesus. Only He can make the difference. May I suggest you pray and ask The Lord to show you how best to love them, as He would like to do thru you. You are the light, as He is the light. Walk in the light, so no darkness would be in you. You may bring some to salvation in Jesus. :)
