I only had one 1911, my old series 70 Mk IV. I have a couple of other .45 ACP units, none of which I’m overly fond of. Then a local guy offered me a sweet deal on this TRP full-rail Operator. She came home with me today and I got her all cleaned up and put away for the night. Off to the range tomorrow 😍

Good for you @walterbunning . Looks fantastic and I bet it functions even better. Possibly a new pet load in the works?
I shot it for the first time today. The trigger is so light that I sent 2 or 3 rounds down range just by breathing too hard
LOL! It will take some getting used to. It didn’t like the cheapo Federal blaster ammo I sent. I tried 2 combos that worked in my other .45s, and it did favor the Lee 230 gr cast RN at about 800fps. I still need to measure best COAL for this one, but a standard 1.26” seemed to do well. Anyway, yeah. The quest for the killer load is on. Reloaders know that the quest never ends, right?
This pistol is massive by 1911 standards with that bull barrel and full rail, but it does absorb a lot of recoil, and didn’t really seem to get heavy in my hand. The VZ grips are great. The captured recoil spring is a little painful to deal with for field stripping, but I have it figured out. No worse than the Ruger MK II .22 😁
All in all, it was a good purchase.

Walter, you lucky dog, Springfield Armory TRP, awesome 1911. Making me think that I need another 1911. While I'm sitting here depriming 45 acp brass, 300 done, 700 more to go.
